Expression Studio 4 Ultimate

I am just downloading the new Expression studio and wanting to know what your views are on it, if you have it.

I have it installed and Web 4 will not work not even in compatibility mode. I have it on Windows 7 anyone else experiencing problems?

Haven't tried 4 yet but 3 works just fine on my Windows 7 64bit machine. I've been meaning to check out 4 so I'll give it a whirl.

sam_benne I have no problems running it, I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate. What kind of message are you getting?

It just comes up with the usual "The program is not working" and then shows Debug Program and Close.

I have found the problem and it was Kaspersky that was stopping it from launching.

This post has the answer on what to do.

I am guessing this would be a similar thing to do for Norton as that has some problems as well but hopefully they are working on a fix as I don't like switching security off on IE.

I have a problem on my laptop which is Win7 Pro 32 bit where Blend 3 and 4 keep crashing at startup. Even tried compatability mode with no luck. Quite frustrating as prefer it for WPF as opposed to the VS designer.

I've had a problem with Expression Studio 4, specifically with the screen recorder. It crashes when I begin recording. Found that if I reduce my screen resolution it doesn't crash. It's an odd error, but I reduce my resolution when I record anyways.

I have noticed people having problems with the screen recorder at some resolutions. I have not tried it yet as I have "paid" for Camtasia 7. I will be testing them all then blogging my results tomorrow possibly.

IE...as in Internet Explorer? You do know there are more secure browsers available.

Yeah I use Google Chrome. I was saying I don't like having to turn security off that is linked to Internet Explorer as it is bad enough.

It's better than IE plus I prefer the User Interface than IE and FF.

I would use IE 8 over Chrome any day (and twice on Sunday). Honestly, I've never seen anything that shows that Chrome is secure in any way, or that it's more secure than IE 8
