C Programmer, Walmart, Cleveland Ohio

Posted 22 June 2010 - 12:03 PM

I am not the one offering this job. But when it was brought to my attention, I thought I would I would post it here on Dream In Code for three reasons.

1.) It's in Cleveland, so it's close to home. I like to see local developers finding work :)
2.) There is a ton of 'C is outdated & no one uses it anymore' garbage that colleges teach. I worked for a fortune 500 company where I did C & AIX (Unix) development. This is just another extremely large company that makes a great example that old languages are still very alive & well (& very well paid to boot!).
3.) Same as reason number 1, but exchange Ohio for Dream In Code developers :)

It says it's in Bentonville, AR though. And that would be one hell of a pay cut. I'm sure the cost of living is significantly cheaper in that area than here, but still...

Yeah, I noticed that it was in AR. Don't understand why it says the job posting is in Cleveland Ohio, & then the job is in AR.

It's for Walmart. When do they ever pay well? They're all about cheap, and lowering the standard of living one town at a time.
