Discrete mathematics application

Hi dreamcode members....

I have a job for which i am in deliberate in need of help. I have a paper presentation in Discrete maths (related to computers). I have selected the topic
"DEEP BLUE TECHNIQUE FOR PLAYING CHESS"

I am not clear about the technique so please help me with some links about this topic or any other presentation helps.
