Submitted Tutorial

Posted 10 July 2010 - 01:47 PM

Hello!

I have submited an tutorial, after clicking Post New Topic I was redirected to the tutorials page, without any information about my submission. How to understand if my tutorial was submited, and if it is approved?

It's in the queue (two of 'em, I deleted a duplicate).

You'll get a PM if it is disapproved w/the reason, otherwise you'll see in it the tutorial section and you'll have some shiny new kudos.

No problemo.

There is something in the works that will allow people to get confirmation of submissions and see the status of their submissions ("pending", etc...).

Which is your approval algorithm? Why does it take so much time?

Someone looks at it to make sure the information is correct and isn't copied from somewhere. Usually takes less then a week depending on the queue and what subject/language the tutorial is in.

There is no algorithm. Each submission, whether it be a tutorial or a snippet, is hand checked, hand tested then checked to make sure it wasn't copied from a different source. Given the number of submissions versus the number of us authorized to approve/deny submissions sometimes it can take a bit of time, and that can be increased based on what the language is :)

Thank you for clarifying this, I posted a tutorial last night and I thought it didn't post so I posted a new one today. There really should be something above the tutorial section informing posters that the tutorials have to be checked before they are posted (I was really annoyed that I had to re-write the tutorial becuase I didn't know it had to be checked).

That is exactly what they should have above the editor when you go to submit a tutorial or snippet :sigh:
