So in my interview I was asked if I had used Matrix. I had no idea what they were talking about since my head is filled with all four copies of the Matrix films.

Now, I am working there, so I asked someone what Matrix is.

OMG, he brought up an xls file and pointed to a section of the spread sheet. The matrix is a 5x4 table used as a standard layout. I don't even remember what info that they put in there. I was so disappointed in what the matrix is. I thought for sure it was going to be some sort of XRMS ticketing system, or maybe a customized version of SAP, or at least a home brew version of MySQL.

nope its just a table.

Has anyone else run into anything like this?

When you buy all the Matrix DVD's & alight them together... you tell me how many you come up with.

I count four because (as a humans) we don't start with zero...

The animatrix is 9 short films so I get 12 if we take them into account and otherwise 3.

I would probably also have looked like a question mark if someone had asked me if I had used Matrix at a job interview.
If it was a question about my knowledge about working with matrices, Gauss elimination, multiplication, etc. For a game programming job it could be about homogeneous coordinates, coordinate system translation, scale and rotation, projection, etc.

Marketroids use those kinds of matrixes all the time. Feature matrixes for example. In lieu of an actual project planning type of program.

I feel the same as nooblet. There's the Matrix trilogy and there's the Animatrix, both of which contains numerous films.

I would call the Matrix movies (with people) a trilogy.
But the cartoons and short films plus the comics, I would refer to those as a series.

That's what I had mentioned to them, I asked "Do you mean a matrix of arrays for during 3D rotation in C+++ programing?" They said "No, we mean as in the movie, how much heat can you produce?"

hehehe


OH, and the video game! That would also fall under the series category.

As I've said, I do not count Animatrix as part of the group. To me it is and always will be a Trilogy.

Wait, that third box clearly has two DVDs...

Actually, the next two movies are really just one long movie. When I saw number two in the theater, some of the audience actually booed at then ending.

I'm kind of inclined to think of the other movies as a "we shall never speak of this" kind of thing.


The Animatrix was fun, though.
