Looks good!
Default text size is a bit small though, especially in the source code and it's hard to read..

I saw that...but i had to click a few times to make the font readable. I'd make it bigger by default

Default font should be bigger for sure.
If you're going to use a dark background don't back away from using bold colors, pale colors are really only useful in lighter backgrounds. If you're going to use orange then use it, flaunt it, it's a powerful color and doesn't lend well to pale variations, especially against black/dark grey.
Navigation needs to be open by default, space saving or not that'll kill you in the long run for sure.
The 3 boxes in the bottom need to line up with the two news columns and be sized up. The gradient in the same area needs to be faded out a bit, it's far too noticeable and bold which draws attention away from the boxes in the same area.
Overall you need more whitespace around your text, line-height is a must as well and it should be at very least 1.5x your font size.

The colours could do with little tweaks, like Lemur says. Apart from that it's cool.
Personally, I hate things like the font sizing widget. They're pointless. Anyone who needs a bigger font will use their browser to increase the default font size anyway - giving them a second way to do it is the semantic equivalent of putting a big button element at the top of the page labelled "BACK", and for people without script or screen readers it's just noise on the page. On the other hand, it does impress HR weasels with ticky boxes
Initially I didn't even notice there was a button labelled "open navigation". But since clicking it does absolutely nothing, what do you mean? I assume he's scripted something that's broken, but I'm not hacking my way through the code to find out

I decided to scrap that theme I found, and use something a bit readable. Can you check my latest post and let me know if the font is more readable and easy on the eyes?

Easier to read, yes, but the header is making me sick. That coffee or whatever it's supposed to be is pretty danged nasty looking.
The paper is overkill on the nav buttons, needs to be a set with less wrinkles and folds, looks forced.
Actually, in all honesty I'd trash the header and remake it, the thing is a mess and most of it would involve higher quality images and better psuedo-3d effects.

It has that "Blog" with the arrow on every page... even the non blog pages. Funny, eh?
