Web Audio Player with Waveform View

Posted 21 July 2010 - 08:34 AM

Hi,
I'm searching for a Web Audio Player with Waveform View.
It shouldn't be a flash script. Best would be a HTML5 script.
I want it to play just one sound per instance. The timeline must be automatically generated waveform-view of the sound. The user can scroll through the sound by clicking into the waveform.

Is there a ready-to-use player to embed it into my website?

Regards

Hans

This is a pretty tall order, a WFM is not an easy thing to build. You are looking for a player that analyses and extracts waveform data - on the fly - from any file passed to it?

As far as I am aware such a thing doesn't exist in such a simple form as a media player, and even if it did, the overheads would not make it a viable web application because of the data processing that would have to take place in order to generate the waveform output.

Unfortunately I would think this is probably a no go.

Hmnn. That's a tough one.

This is a pretty cool option, which I believe does what you want it to, but you have to pay for it (check out this site for other cool options as well):

You might also want to check out this tutorial, which shows you how to render spectrums with Sound.extract() in AS3.
