Pranking Co-workers

Posted 22 July 2010 - 11:57 AM

We use to pull a lot of pranks where I use to work. Nothing as elaborate as these but we did shrink wrap a car and used a bunch of the really heavy duty zip ties to strap a guys car doors shut.

Just wondering if anyone has did anything like this or has had it happen to them.

we pull pranks all the time where i work. Like if you leave your computer unlocked after work hours expect to have random man love emails sent from your computer. One coworker had his keyboard rearranged to spell the work newb. Nothing major, but small things, like running a program that rotated your screen 90 degrees when ever you hit a random letter that changed once you hit it.

One time we filled a managers office with balloons. All the way to the roof. We went through the roof panels to top it off. Then we put a pin on his door as a 'key'

Ugh, I hate the sound of popping balloons. I've never been pranked, but the guy in the cube behind me had his covered in caution tape and lolcats. Not by me though.

When I worked with supersloth I came to work to many a prank. Phone, stapler, spare change, mouse, pens, etc. all Gorilla Glued to my desk.

Came back from vacation one time to 4 chairs piled on top of my workstation tied together with about 100 foot of phone cord that was threaded, looped, wrapped, tied, and cinched through every possible opening on the desk.

I try not to be destructive in my pranks, usually just slightly annoying. Little things like covering the sensor on their optical mouse with tape, or re-arranging the cords on their monitors so they're switched and then moving the logon box over. They're only little things, but if you ever have the chance to do all of them at once it's fun to watch someone have to deal with one little WTF after another.

one of my favorite pranks, put post it notes all over someone's car, but do it so that none of them over lap. that way they have to pull them off one by one. it's also great if this is done in a very public place as a lot of the time people will write funny messages on the post it notes. only down side - you need a ton of post it notes...

It's not based on the OS, it's based on the video card.

The only thing I've ever done is:

  • Take screenshot of the desktop
  • Set the wallpaper as the new screenshot you just took
  • Hide the desktop icons

Watch them click & click the icons on their desktop trying to figure out why nothings working
