.exe files

Posted 25 July 2010 - 12:37 AM

I'm using vb 2010, and a newbie programmer

I just want to ask how to change the description of the .exe file from WindowApplication1 to something else and how to change its icon?

By the way, does applications made in vb 2010 requires .net Framework to run? Because i tried to run my .exe file in another pc but it gives me an error.

Hi
yes to the question it needs frameworks .net to work 3.5 and higher
and also microsoft silverlight installed
do a windows update and it should dowload it in that I have had problems with vb2010 not running on computers but all run with visual basic 2008

as to changing the icon
first you need a icon file .ico
then once completed go to
project and select project properties
once in project propeties select the icon drop down menu
then select your icon in the deserd place
then press save
then debug
thats it
check out the screen shot at the bottom of the page

You will need to install .NET Framework 4.0 on that computer.
