@mostyfriedman: Over in the states, a masters takes ~5 years depending on the program, even for engineering.

The engineering program at my school (in the States) is expected to take you 5 years for the undergraduate degree. This is at a school that is pretty reputable for its engineering programs. It just depends on your school.

By itself? Or coupled with an undergrad degree? Solo it's 1-2 years.

Coupled with an undergrad. If you're going to go for it, might as well do it efficiently.

The masters I want to undertake is 1 year (full time) at a separate university, it simply requires a related degree, and of course very good grades. Still pretty awesome that it only takes a year

For a master's I've seen mostly 1-2 year time periods. 1 is more common if you're jumping into it at the same University (I'm planning on going elsewhere to get my master's).

The truly efficient way to do it is to work on your Masters your Junior and Senior years in your undergrad and then you wind up with a BS and MS in 4 years. HOT DAMN!
