I don't know about weird, but definitely pretty funny.

Love the Calculus "Explain the shape of the graph" one.

He was taking the course online from a different university this summer. >_<

Nice, but one of them is wrong. The limit of 1 / (x - 8) as x approaches 8 isn't infinity--it's nonexistent as the limit is different for the two sides.

although x/0 is undefined - not nonexistent, the limit as x tends towards 8 does approach infinity, which is correct

There are 2 limits as x tends towards 8. You can approach 8 from 2 directions. The limit differs depending on which direction you approach 8. If you approach 8 from the left, the limit is negative infinity. If you approach it from the right, the limit is infinity.

so it does equal infinity - BUT it also equals negative infinity. so it is correct, but an incomplete answer?? also if you follow my link it explains why infinity equals negative infinity - Real projective line.

incomplete as in square root of 4 is 2, and also minus 2. just writing two is correct but incomplete??
