i have imported a projected(in vs 2008) into another project(in vs 2010) and it works correctly at run time however at design time it has split the form from the designer(see the attachment)
is there anyway to merge them back together? Like i said they compile correctly but when i try change the form at design time, all i get is a blank form with no controls on it

Are you referring to how you see the files in the Solution Explorer?

well not so much how they just appear in solution explorer my big problem is that when i click on view designer, the windows form pops blank. none of the controls are on it.See the difference in the designtime and runtime attachments. all i'm really after is how do i make it so i can edit the form as normal

Have you tried creating a new form, and pasting the old code over it?

nah, i was hoping to avoid that because it's happened to a few forms.
currently i'm working around this by adjusting the designer code, luckily i don;t need to add new controls(althought that would be interesting to learn)
