This reminds me of Project Euler quite a bit.

Anyone else reach the test limit? I was under the impression the week time frame between retests was not in effect for the beta?

I could not find any where it stated this before reaching the 3 test limit.

I got 0.0! I'm willing to admit to possible typos. I believe I put a for rather than a foreach in one. But really? Actually running and solving the program may not be the criteria; what is?

Each question is worth two points. A reasonable scoring methodology would be one point for correct answer and, say, one for meeting a timing threshold or conciseness. It doesn't look like this is used, which is strange because it did catch a typo.

I suspect they have a set of canned answers they're comparing to, which is probably the worst possible methodology. Every programmer will write code differently. For trivial stuff like this, I'll often write something another way just not to be bored. I wonder if I bombed because I moved their curly brace?

Perhaps the most disappointing thing about the site is that it doesn't show reason for the score. At which point, it's basically useless. Neat idea, poor execution.

i dont think it would actually help people get programming gigs, since the problems are very trivial, and they don't really relate to what you would do in a job.

This time I did the Java side... and kept notes.

Not only did everything run, but I went out of my way to clean it up. The result, 3.0. :P

I got 3.0 on C# could have been higher if the error messages weren't hidden below the fold.
