Hi Guys,
I just wanted to let you know there is a bug in the posting of comments on a user's profile. When posting it gives you the number of characters left when writing the message. I wrote a message that took this count down to exactly zero (message was exactly 400 characters). No problem right? It should post the entire 400 character message. So I continue only to find out that it cuts off the message with an ellipsis around 386 or so. You may want it to show the actual 400 character message and there appears to be no reason why you can't since the entire message has room to fit.
Thanks!

Interesting bug, I"ll report it to InvisionBoard and hopefully we'll get a patch for it. I've got new forums on our development server, but there are a LOT of skin issues that I just haven't had time to tackle.

Seems like it's still unresolved, I was just cut by that myself. Is there a reason why we couldn't just, you know, put our dirty hands in there and edit appropriate PHP a little?

Well, I'm just here to say that yeah, I experience it too. I thought my post gets posted but lo, I just learn that it got cut somewhere.

Update:
This might just be nitpicking, but if you type on the Profile of a member it says below "400 characters left" but it doesn't even decrease if you type. Maybe it should be changed to "400 characters allowed" if that's how it's supposed to work.

Wasn't it working though? Something like yesterday even?

I think it works before. According to the first post here, it shows the remaining characters. Hmm. Maybe someone's working on it now?

The counter was certainly working at the time I posted in this topic.

Attached is me trying to type in your box. Nope. Doesn't work. What browser are you using? Maybe it's because I'm using Chrome 12. There's another thread in this forum where the OP said the "Search" thing doesn't work but when we checked on some other browsers it does.

The "..." problem from the OP is browser agnostic, since the comment is shortened by server-side.
As for the counter... It works for me at the moment, I'm using Chromium:
But on Windows, Opera (...some recently updated version) it didn't work. So there may be a problem with JS portability.

I wish they do a complete redesign though, this site is the way I remember it to be back on my student days.
