Profile posting bug
Posted 14 August 2010 - 08:30 AM
I just wanted to let you know there is a bug in the posting of comments on a user's profile. When posting it gives you the number of characters left when writing the message. I wrote a message that took this count down to exactly zero (message was exactly 400 characters). No problem right? It should post the entire 400 character message. So I continue only to find out that it cuts off the message with an ellipsis around 386 or so. You may want it to show the actual 400 character message and there appears to be no reason why you can't since the entire message has room to fit.
Thanks!

This might just be nitpicking, but if you type on the Profile of a member it says below "400 characters left" but it doesn't even decrease if you type. Maybe it should be changed to "400 characters allowed" if that's how it's supposed to work.

As for the counter... It works for me at the moment, I'm using Chromium:
Version 22.0.1229.94 Debian wheezy/sid (161065)
But on Windows, Opera (...some recently updated version) it didn't work. So there may be a problem with JS portability.
