Database with c#

i want to know what could be the most simplest way to connect and retrieve data from database in c#
i donot require the code but require a what are the steps to get database working in windows form application preferably with SQL server express edition and creating and filling tables

I normally use the SqlConnection, SqlCommand, and SqlDataReaderclasses to communicate with a database.

We also have a tutorial here that goes through the basics.

You could also go to find the datasources option. And select "new datasource".
