Facebook Fan Page Customization

Posted 02 September 2010 - 09:47 AM

My boss went to a conference to learn about Facebook Fan Pages. There he heard that people have added a customization to their pages where when a user is on the "Welcome" tab and they click the Like button, they either get redirected to a different tab, or the Welcome tab looks different for them now that they are a following this page. Does anyone know how this is done? I looked through the FBML API and I can't find anything that I sounds like it would help in this manner. My guess would be that it's Javascript-based, but I'm not sure.

Here's a good starting place. And you could easily set a cookie using JS, but I haven't done this through Facebook. They may give you access to the follow API for your fan page as well which would make it more exact even if the user clears the cache.

Hope this helps:

Here's another one that teaches how to control what people see in your tabs.

Those are good places to start for learning how to create a Fan Page, but neither of them answer my question.

Thanks anyway,
Joe
