Text Effects Using Actionscripting in FLash 5

I would like to create an animated text effect using actionscript in Flash 5. I'm not sure were to begin or what the process is. Most of the examples I have seen are for Flash 4 and many are too complicated. I just need a simple example.

if you want something that is not to hard to make then go get Swish @ http://www.swishzone.com/ it does a good number of text effects but then it exports the fil to the movie clip or scene I prefer the movie clip because then you movie or scene will load a bit faster which in just about every case is very good.
