OZZFEST

Posted 10 September 2010 - 05:01 AM

I know most of you are mrcns, so did any of you go?

Also, to the few UK members, will you be going? I can't wait! \o/

- Haven't seen Ozzy in five years, and really looking forward to seeing Steel Panther and Skindred again :)

Think this is one of the last big events until next summer now. As far as I know, there's only one big(ish) festival left in the UK in December, though I'm not sure if I'll be going.

Festival season is over. Sad gabehabe is sad. :(

Skindred are fantastic live, as are korn, murderdolls, sabath and ozzy. Not seen the others before.

I liked Ozzfest when it twinned with MOR/Download a few years back but this should be good. Im still waiting to hear if ive secured a press pass finally for somthing bigger than a 3 band gig. fingers crossed for 2011

Yeah, it was twinned with Download 5 years ago, which is when I saw Ozzy (as part of Black Sabbath, but it's all about Ozzy!)

The atmosphere during Black Sabbath's set was immense, only felt it once since, when Aerosmith played Download this year.

This will be my second time seeing Skindred and Steel Panther this year. If you don't know who Steel Panther are, and you get the chance to see them, do it. Bloody hilarious, especially live. :)

Never been a huge fan of Korn, though wouldn't mind seeing them live. Same applies to Murderdolls.

Many bands are great live, even if you dont like their music.

Ive watched fallout boy, MCR and mcfly live, dont like their music but live they were really good.

Korn is intense live, similar to Slipknot and Cradle of Filth in their stage presence.

Ive not been to download for a couple of years, the 2+ mile walk killed it along with the general atmosphear around the site, I wish it was more like the first 3 years when it was still a fairly unknown event and a smaller turnout.

I will deffiantly look to go next year and hope it changes my mind.

If you Brit's get a chance to, see Avenged Sevenfold live. I saw them last Tuesday with Halestorm, Disturbed, Stone Sour, Fight the Lion, New Medicine, Hail the Villain, Airborne and Hell Yeah. A7X was amazing. They made Disturbed, the headliner, look REALLY bad. The only bands that I've seen live that beat them out were Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Skillet. They even made Motley Crue look bad. Of course, starting their portion out with a guy walking in the rafter, putting a noose around his neck, and dropping out of the rafters really sets the tempo for what they would be like. Plus, their tributes to Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan, their drummer who died last year, were amazing. They actually gave me goose bumps, and Mike Portney (Dream Theatre's drummer) filling in for the Rev was definitely a good addition to the show.

I was the opposite with MCR, liked their music until I heard them live, absolutely terrible :(

I've also seen McFly. It was a fun night but wouldn't say they're great. Not bad though, not compared to most pop bands.

@P4L I saw A7X at Download this year. Was gutted I missed Airbourne and Hellyeah :/

I'd love to go to Ozzfest, but apparently Sharon hates Atlanta, so we don't get a stop this year...

@gabehabe, they are part of the Uproar tour. That's probably why you missed them. In all honesty, I liked Fight the Lion, who is a local band in Va. They were better then Airborne imo. Didn't see Hell Yeah's stage performance due to medical issues, but I heard them.

nono, I missed Airbourne because they were playing at the same time as someone else (I forget who), and I missed Hellyeah because my friend got up too late :(

My friend is terrible. Me and my henchman even gave her tent an earthquake test, she slept straight through it.

I also saw Tool on their own tour (with the Melvins) that next night.

I also met my Ex at that OzzFest. Bitches get stitches. Just sayin'
