I agree, but unfortunately IE is an actual component to the OS. You cannot remove it or your OS will occasionally not work correctly.

Except in the EU where it can be.

See...I thought IE9 was going to be it's own standalone application. But it's not. It's simply a Windows Update for IE8. When you go to uninstall the beta, it doesn't show up in your Add/Remove programs unless you have the checkbox for "show updates" checked.
