Hello to all that may read this. I use visual studio and recently installed the .dot framework so I could install and use the mysql connection tool. Unfortunately I have seem to have rendered my visual studio almost useless. I can open and run my current project, but I can only make one change at a time to the code. Once I run the debugger it runs the app once, but it will not run it again. I have to shut my entire computer down and start again. The error message i get is"Visual Studio could not copy a support file to this location:" and tells me to make sure the path exists and that the folder is writable. It exists and the permissions are correct. Has anyone run into this problem? I found no help in Microsoft docs and nothing in the visual studio help.

Is your project saved on a shared folder?
Which version of VS and Windows are you using?

Thanks for the reply! The project is saved in the default project folder on my machine and there is no share on this folder. I am using visual studio 2005 with all the updates. Thanks again!!

Did you try searching Google for your error? If so, was this not helpful?

Thank you very much! This was the problem, and now it is fixed. Yes I did try searching Google (because Google is my home page and my friend) but I never once came to that page. Thank you so much you are great! My Google searches for this problem were less than fruitful and that was why I turned to Microsoft and then visual studio forms. I came here last because I thought I would be able to solve the issue elsewhere. Thanks again!!!

Cool, glad you found it. My search was simply for "Visual Studio could not copy a support file to this location" and that was the first link.
