I would recommend the huge list of Ideas, but there not really meant for web development, nor are they a big challenge.
I would suggest creating some sort of software that can be implemented on websites. Like a forum, Blog, CMS.
Forum would be very good practice as it can be pretty complicated. Same as a CMS.
So my idea is software not just a particular website.
Hope this Helps,
-Daniel

Thank you the reply. There are many web sites which allow automatic creation of forums or CMS. What are your other ideas - the huge list which you mentioned?

Here is the Huge list that I was talking about: http://www.dreaminco...ect-ideas-list/
Another Idea would be to create something with HTML5, as this will be a very good technology to work with in the feature once it's fully developed and ALL browsers support ALL features. (e.g. HTML5 Canvas, LocalStorage)
Also get familiar with some API's and create an awesome website with it. Like the Google Geo Location which you can do a lot of things with it.
Another option would be a PHP / MYSQL game with AJAX (JQuery) for Facebook or not. Using the Facebook API for games is a really good option.
Chat Room is another good project. A friend and I made a simple Chat Room in PHP, MYSQL, and Plain AJAX (No JQuery). KlickChat.
Check out the List theres been some updates.
There's so many options out there.
Hope this Helps,
-Daniel
