Seems like a good start!
Though the header text doesn't really seem to fit with the entire theme.
Try creating some different header in photoshop, that has a font that will work with the site. Typography is the key.
Other than that I like the theme and the site catches my eye a bit.

I feel like the font used on the side bars needs to be increased in size. Also the image used in your header needs to be photoshopped a little to soften the edges that currently look like stairs.
