The first programming assignment was not a programming assignment at all, but was merely a program given us to compile and attempt to run to make sure our system was up and running. It was a very interesting program, however, and after I asked the teacher about it he said that we would probably not get around to explaining how it worked, and he would have to look it up again anyhow. So, I have come here seeking enlightenment and education! Can anyone help me figure out exactly what this code is doing to do what it does? That is, how can this jumble of characters print out the 12 days of christmas?
