ScaleMode of a form

Posted 11 October 2006 - 05:00 AM

Hello again! This time I have a hard graphics question: how can I make my form look the same on every monitor?

I explain: I have a 17" monitor with a resolution of 1280x1024. My form just perfectly fits the screen. However, when showing my program on another computer, with a lower screen resolution, the form isn't showing completely, because of my ScaleMode.

How can I make my form appear the same on every monitor? Please help.

I think I should set the ScaleMode to 0 - User and play in ScaleHeight, ScaleWidth, ScaleLeft and ScaleTop. Any help to clarify this would be appreciated.

I discovered this by chance while working on my class 12 VB project. I don't know why it works though. It worked for me in VB6.
Copy your picture to word and set its layout to square. Then copy that to the clipboard. Select your form and press Ctrl+V (paste). The picture gets pasted on the form as the background. Run your application for different resolutions. It should work.

Anyone got an explanation as to why this happens?

I do not know why it works, however I solved the problem by using the Tag parameter of every control on my form that change the width, height, left and top properties depending on the resolution of the user. But thanks for helping :)
