copy to client side clipboard

Posted 27 October 2010 - 08:25 PM

I've been trying to research this and its driving me a little nuts

I want to be able to have the end user click a button that is going to fire off an asp/event and also place a string generated from the event to the clipboard ...

I believe the only way to interact with the clipboard is through javascript ? This is tripping me up a little too

Any help is greatly appreciated

Most people use javascript and Flash to do this(don't know if there is another way).

Try this..

You are going to need to use Javascript. Server-side code runs on the server and doesn't have any access to the client.

If you want, you can actually do this in Silverlight 4. I just did a tutorial.

When you create a Silverlight application, take a look at the .aspx page that is added in the .Web project that's automatically created. You will see how to add a Silverlight control to an .aspx page.
