4. XP Tips and Tricks (From http://www.xpreme.com)
====================================================

Another week has come upon us, and another XP tip I
am to bestow upon your our readers.

This week I want to take a look at setting clear
type on your Welcome screen. Clear Type is a new
font smoothing technology that Microsoft is
employing in it's new operating system. Clear Type
significantly improves the readability of fonts on
any monitor not just LCD or laptop monitors. Clear
Type is a per user setting in Windows XP, meaning
that your preference for Clear Type is only loaded
up once you have passed the Welcome Screen and have
logged into your account. However with the following
tip you can make it so the Welcome screen also has
Clear Type on it and make it easier to read.

Open the Registry Editor by going to the Start Menu,
selecting Run and typing RegEdit into the box.

Navigate the registry until you have reached the
following location. HKEY_USERS.DEFAULTControl PanelDesktop

Once their you will see a key called FontSmoothingType.
Edit the Value so that it now says 2.

Now restart your machine and when the Welcome Screen
loads you should see the fonts on the page have
improved quite a bit.

Well that is it for this week's tip. Enjoy it, keep
visiting dream.in.code, reading XPreme Magazine and
do yourself a favor go buy a copy of my book ;-)

8. Ramble - From Chris Kenworthy

How many of you have been watching the olympics? I
have... every day! And you know what conclusion I
have come to. Canadian  girls are HOT and VERY
athletic. So are the Norwegians. It's been a really
good Olympics so far, I'm really enjoying the events
and I'm sure I'll get laughed at for saying this,
but Figure Skating has gotta be one of the best
events! I just love the music, the talent, the
passion the skaters exhibit! But I'm looking forward
to watching people slide head first down a track
of ice going 90MPH in the Skeleton Racing. I swear
someone is gonna get hurt in that event!

I'm sure a couple people read about me no longer
drinking caffeine. I quit cold turkey on Tuesday and
the withdrawl is just pure ####. Severe headaches,
dizzyness, tired, shaking... I feel sorry for those
crack addicts that are trying to quit! But alas, my
stomach is just torn to shreds and I can't bend over
without feeling a burning sensation in my throat.

I don't wanna preach, but you kids that drink a 12
pack a day of coke or whatever, it feels REALLY bad
having your stomach on fire all day long. Might think
about that the next time you down that Code Red ;)

Anyway, that's all for today kiddies, have a good
rest of the week and enjoy the weekend!

9. Ramble - From Will Clark (The Neoracle)

Seriously, CNN is going to DIE!  I hate them now.
My usual Monday/Wednesday/Friday:
Get up about 10:30, jump in the shower.
Get out of the shower, turn on CNN make sure we didn't kill Osama Bin Laden.
Get some food then start work or do homework.

Sounds like a good plan right? Wrong, I've had to
find something else to watch in the mornings (and
for those of you that don't go to high school, you
know there is NOTHING on TV).  Why do I have to
find something else?  Cause CNN keeps announcing
the results to the Olympics before they are on TV.
WTF?  I don't want to know who wins before it's on.
What's the point of watching then? None.  There is
no point.  They ruined the Medal sweep in the Men's
Snowboarding, they ruined that the German luger
didn't win gold for the 4th time.  They ruined the
Ski Jump.  I wanted to watch these.  Where do they
get the balls to ruin the results?  NBC should kick
Ted Turner square in the nuts then hand him a giant
law suit.

Now, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind if they
put up a disclaimer, 'If you don't want to know
the results, please stop listening now,' but no.
'And they US Men have swept the Medals in
Snowboarding.'  F-CK!!!!!!!!!! I DIDN'T WANT TO
KNOW!  WTF!!!!!!!!  It's like ruining the end to
a movie for your friend, you just don't do it.  If
they want to know, they will ask.  So, I put it to
you, boycott CNN.  Only watch NBC!  Make those AOL
greedy bastards pay!
