1. News @ dream.in.code
====================================================

Just a few more days boys and girls! I'm dreaming of
a geek christmas. And some of you may notice snow has
fallen at dream.in.code! What's new on the site? Well
let me start with 800 members, and 16,000 posts! We
are averaging 20,000 hits per day! Finishing touches
are being put on the guild, and I hear Ikonboard GOLD
is going to be released tonight, so I will do some
looking into that. Rumor is though it still doesn't
have the friggin features I want so I doubt I'll be
upgrading.

I'm thinking of getting a couple of interviews going
again, maybe Wasted Youth, 2Advanced, Design is Kinky,
LinkdUp, etc. If you have any contact internal to
theses sites please let me know, it'll make my life
a lot easier :)

I know for the longest time there was very little
activity in other forums (ie. hardware, flash, web
design, html, etc.) Well that has changed! With some
minor changes to the 'flow' of the site, we have
greatly increased the activity in the other forums
so we'd love to see you back at the site and posting!

That's pretty much it for now, I'd like to thank
Jaredigital (http://www.jaredigital.com) for making
our 'holiday logo' Thanks a lot man, I know you
wanted it red, but it looks so much better orange :)

Oh I did want to mention LANTastic (thanks Vetritus!)
LANTastic is our weekly(?) gathering of local d.i.c
members to play games and have a good ole' time! If
you can make it to New Mexico near the end of the
week (Friday's) you are more than welcome to bring
your computer and game with us at one of these great
events! LANTastic 2001 II is this Friday and we are
looking forward to a good turnout! If you can make
it... see you there, if not... YOU ARE MISSING OUT!
HAHAHAHAH!

Have a great holiday, and a safe weekend... remember
there are people like me out on the roads!

6. Ramble - From Chris Kenworthy
====================================================

Wow, only a few more days left until the jolly man
himself comes down my chimney... errr... my front
door. And hopefully he'll come bearing gifts for
geeks! As you saw last week, I want some goodies
for my computer :)

So it's 6:51 in the morning, and I just walked in the
door from a little LAN party with Vetritus and Sixpack
all night long and I've been up since EARLY yesterday
morning, so if none of this make since... blame the..
the.. oh I screw it! I got my ass spanked at Command
and Conquer - Red Alert multiple times, those guys
good! Can't wait to see how some of the competition
is on Friday at LANTastic 2001 II! Anyway, I'll keep
this ramble pretty short considering my lack of
sleep, I'll talk with everyone soon! Have a GREAT
HOLIDAY and be SAFE! Don't go get yourself killed or
anything like that!

Best Regards,
Chris Kenworthy

Christians (and the sub religions that are similar) are the only religion that celebrate Christmas and, last time I checked they make up 10% of the earth. I'm sorry your stuck in such a narrowminded view but there are other religions and cultures in this world and on this site.  How about if we put a 6 pointed star over the logo durring hanauka or a crecent moon durring rahmadahn.

As for Red being a christmas color, it's also the color of Communism.

My point is, it's not fair to do make the site christmasy if your not going to respect the other religions.  I don't see anything wrong with the Snow though, it is winter, winter happens everywhere (although they may not get snow).

I think snow is appropriate to the season. However, I do wonder how often you NM'ers ever SEE snow (I'm betting some of you never have ;)

It'd be fun to do something for all the different people's holidays, like Google, but of course that'd be a LOT of work...lol.

When I was a kid up north we had SO much snow that MASSIVE piles would accumulate everywhere, of all the snow they'd taken off the roads. Sometimes they had to ship it out of town in trucks because there was nowhere to put it. Fun times, for a kid. We used to tunnel in these huge piles and build forts and things... those were the days. :)
