Which Web Development Language to Start Wtih

I program in vb.net, java and c++ but i'm very used to vb.net. i develop desktop applications and databases.
I want to get into web development. which language would anyone recommend for me.

start with html and php. They are open source

Go for javascript too..
You can also go with asp.net as you are familiar with .net

Learn client side first with HTML and CSS. Get them cracked and go onto Javascript.

For server side stuff, there is ASP/.net and PHP. There is plenty of cheap web hosting providers that offer PHP scripting on their servers but seen as your already comfortable with .NET, give that a shot.

As for designing, research the best practises of web design and have a look into colour schemes.
