So I am looking for some good movies out there where the main content is either hacking, programming, etc as the story line. Any suggestions?!?! There is of course, Hackers, Swordfish, Anti-Trust............

Fight Club (social engineering) and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (also social engineering). 21 is a good hacking movie too.

Live free or die hard is good and the theme is really techy and it has hacking in it.

Sneakers and Wargames are of course great movies for their times. Wargames 2 was also entertaining. Not good, but if you needed something as background noise on while doing something else, it would suffice .

I'm surprised Blade Runner hasn't been said. Hunting robots that are trying to hack their termination date.

"Strange Days" is also pretty cool. Recording dreams and selling it on the black market.

If Fear and Loathing (ugh, only Gilliam film I can't stand) and Fight Club fit in here, then these certainly do (which I don't think they do... how is fear and loathing a 'social engineering' movie? It's more of the escapades of a sad pathetic drug addict who wrote a hyperbolic take on his own life.).

Cube - good B movie weird movie. I wouldn't call it hacking, but certainly an interesting computer mayhem, screwy weird movie. The sequels all suck.

Existenz was said, bringing it up again because it's so bad you must see it. That and Cronenburg in general makes hilariously awesome movies. Definitely see Scanners, Naked Lunch, The Fly, and anything by him if you're into sci-fi in general.

There's a ton more out there, very seldom are your techy movies blockbusters though. Bladerunner and Matrix really only being the ones fitting in there.
