Button within a draggable mc

so i have a button that is part of a draggable movie clip.

but the button does not function because it's part of the movie clip, it is also part of the hit area to drag the movie clip around..

does anyone know how to make the button function?

Only thing that comes to mind is that it's not named or the path to it is incorrect.
