The universe is officially flat and only LOOKS round because all the light is going along it.
Among other things, this raises questions about life, theology, and origami.
Now I pose the question to all of you: without invisible friends (or invisible enemies), imagine you have traveled to the edge of the universe. What do you see?

To me the article would seem to have implications that the big bang might be a correct model for the universe given that the geometry of the universe has been determined to be a sphere or more precisely, an expanding sphere.
but I'm not an astrophysicist.

I have to point out... the article no where says "officially", and only that it adds evidence that it might be. Not to say I agree or disagree, just stating that it's not like this was "hard proof there of", it's more or less just evidence in the "if it were flat then we expect this to be a result of it, and it is... so it's probably flat". But this latter form of evidence collecting isn't an accepted form of 'proving' and especially not 'officiating' anything.
It's ironic that the section of the article outlining the study performed is called 'circular reasoning', a play on the fact they were overlapping binary systems to create a spherical shape.

I really like space. I wish I had money to buy a telescope. I'd spend hours on that thing at night.

I have a telescope, but I can barely use it unless I take a special trip to the boonies because of light pollution.
