How can I create a VB application that auto-loads when I insert a flas

Posted 27 November 2010 - 12:55 PM

I want to be able to create a VB application that is on a flash drive and will run as soon as I insert the flash drive into a computer. Is this possible? If so, could someone point me in the right direction as to how I would go about this?

You would make an 'autorun.ini' file at the usb's root...

Basically follow this:
http://www.visualdes...om/autorun-usb/

It's not really something that you 'program' persay in .NET.

You also would not be able to get it to run without the end user's notice, I might add.

Thank you for the replies. One other thing...I want this to be a stand-alone VB application, meaning I want it to open up without the requirements of an IDE (Visual Studio in my case). How would I go about this?

you can't use any .NET-application without .Net-framework installed on user's computer. Visual Studio is only an IDE and is not needed to run programs.

You could also use an emulator to run your program. Some are much smaller than the entire .net framework.

@ Jack Eagles1: Provide an example of a .net framework emulator.
