Would have been funnier without the "art of trolling" watermark/stamp on the bottom.

I beg to differ. The stamp made it painfully obvious it was meant to troll and hookiethe1 still took that shit seriously.

ONLY MADE IT THAT MUCH SWEETER.

Umm, where to begin with this. The guy in the picture is Dumbledore, from Harry Potter. It is also signed "Dumbledore." I'm not a Harry Potter or Twilight fan, but my wife is, and I'm pretty sure that Dumbledore wasn't in Twilight. Also, Dumbledore may have said that, or someone from Twilight may have said that, but I'm pretty sure Yoda said it first.

Also, the "guy in the picture" is Gandalf the Grey from Lord of the Rings. No, why the fuck would a Harry potter character appear in a completely different franchise? Nobody but Yoda said it. Also, nothing in that picture had anything to do with Twilight. The purpose of the picture was to troll idiots like you and you couldn't even do that right.

I heard a variation on that one.

Smart people learn from their own mistakes. Brilliant people learn from other people's mistakes.

Wow, I am humbled by your clear superiority in the very important subjects of Twilight, Harry Potter and Lord of The Rings. And you're absolutely right, I'm certainly an idiot for not knowing Dumbledore from Mithrandir. Thank you for correcting me, I hope that one day I can be as successful at life as you are.

I don't do life via quotes. I'm a father to three kids: believe me, all the wisdom in the world doesn't help when nobody listens to it.

Just to one up this :

"A man's got to do what a man's got to do, & I'm gonna do what ever it is you tell me to..."

It's from a song. Dunno the source.

Also in that song :

"I don't want to hear any complaining... so I'm gonna shut up!"

Re: Your favorite quotes?

My life is a series of quotes connected by associated situations. Pick a situation, pick something I have watched or read lately and voila that's my new favorite quote.

@anyone who quotes philosophy or scriptures out of context:

My views on life are too abstract and developed to be shortened to neat little sound bites, I leave that to the politicians. :)

quotes I find funny because they are true:

parva leves capiunt animas

"Normal people are so hostile" - not an original quote but I heard it on Dexter, great context.

"Men are so simple and so much inclined to obey immediate needs that a deceiver will never lack victims for his deceptions."
Niccolo Machiavelli - the context of this quote has layer upon layer of nested irony

"You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independance.
You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves."
