I installed MySql on my PC and Xampp too but when I click on admin in Xampp, it shows a page in my browser saying "This webpage is not available.

The webpage at http://localhost/phpmyadmin/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address."

Thanks.

Overall, I'm wondering how you knew to do all of this. Were you following an online guide? If so, what was that guide? Do you have a link where we can see & follow...? Just want to know to what detail the guide was written with, or if something was missed.

** Edit **

Also, do other websites work for local host? Do you have anything loaded? Can you create a test php info page?

<?php
phpinfo();
?>

Can you check phpmyadmin.conf & verify that the paths are correct?

Are you serious?

There are 2 options for you to follow.
  • Buy a premium / business package.
  • Open a new port.

It all depends on what you want. However, there are many things which CANNOT be achieved by only wanting to conquer it.

* Keep it in your mind. If your ISP is COX then, they'll block your :80 straight without letting you know.
* You got to buy a Premium Package / Business Package in order to access those kind of affliate ports.

However, there's still a way to backdoor the blocking of ISP but you'll need a router.

After you try to redirect to
http://localhost/phpmyadmin
and the response is "The page cannot be displayed / accessed or what so ever. "
There is 99.99% probability that your ISP is blocking port :80.

If you do have a router, you may want to goto your router setup area and open port :85.

Goto your xampp folder > apache > conf > httpd.config file.

Open it with Notepad or any text editor software / tool you have.

Search for the word "80", you'll find 2 words in total matching you search.

Replace it with 85. And you are DonE!!

Whenever you want to access your xampp directories, you got to type in this way.

http://localhost:85/"directoryname"

2nd Step :

Control Panel > Windows Firewall > Allow a Program / Application thru the Internet.

Add your xampp there.

I would recommed using xampp 1.6.8 rather than 1.7.1. Ty.

- Listen to 100000000000000000 suggestions, but make "1" decision. -
