My Band
Posted 31 December 2010 - 10:32 PM
I am currently in a band, as a drummer, and we are currently playing covers and small gigs.
Here is our best cover.
http://www.youtube.c...h?v=n_WUYSpuorg
Quality isn't studio or anything, but it's pretty decent.
This was at a party for our school.
We are looking for some CONSTRUCTIVE criticism.
Things We Already Know:
1. Our singer sucks
2. Guitarist needs to lay off the bar chords
3. Bassist needs to be more original
4. Entire band needs more energy
Thank you,
Andrew Gould

Main things with bands that I've seen is confidence. Have confidence, and people would want to listen.

Although it's kinda hard to tell on the video the crash symbol sounds a little stiff. Might want to look into getting a better crash to give it a little more color.
Bassist needs to crank it up some, and the guitarist needs to loosen up a tad, he seems tense and his chord changes are very sudden.
Not bad for a bunch of youngins.

What you need to do, right, is:
Get the bassist to hold his instrument less like Mark King and more like Nikki Six. He might require a longer strap.
Get the guitarist to stop wearing a hat. Give him a delay to cover some of the chord-chord-chord-chord lacklustre strumming.
Wear more black. Learn to mosh.
Get some topless chick to crowdsurf past 3/4 of the way through when the audience is starting to get bored.
Then you need to rename yourselves "Orbital Sander".
