Are you trying to post to a forum, or just upload something to a web page you've written? You'll probably have to have ftp access to the server and then use an ftp library to upload the results of whatever data you're gathering.

Depends on what you are posting to. For example if one is to make a custom google search page as their home page they'll need to redirect to a formatted query string. Xclite is also correct you may also need ftp to submit from node to server. Other application such as twitter/facebook have an api you'll need to conform to inorder to communicate.

Google has changed this but at one point its searches was
Search Query
topic I am searching

Url
http://www.google.com?search=topic+i+am+searching

For FTP it was designed for security for web developers to connect and modify, add or delete files remotely from the server they are working on. Often use when using shared hosting.

Unfortunately I have no experience with twitter and facebook api to aid/show an example of how it works. Although it will generally work under the same principle as the other two. Secured connection from your form to facebook /twitter application.

If you can explain a little more on your project we would be able to help more.

Hope this help if not sorry for wasting time
