Why wont this work in IE?

When I set the margin-left it is meant to center a button Im showing.. (text-align: center) doesnt do what i want. So I use margin-left but it only works in firefox, chrome, etc. not in internet explorer.
Any Ideas?

maybe use padding-left:1 100px; Though this is more of a CSS and HTML question.
