Can't unsubscribe from threads

I can't unsubscribe from threads. The "stop watching" button is no longer there.
I thought this was just a glitch, and I could click "watch this" and then "stop watching" to kick it back into touch, but I get the predictable "[#1033] You are already subscribed to the topic or forum you are attempting to subscribe to." error if I try that trick.
