fallout wasn't too bad for crashes. Brink is horrible. Oblivion never crashes though(in my experience). what other games crashed all the time?

Oblivion has crashed and glitched so horribly I've actually had to keep a list of saves because sometimes I have to rollback (for example, entering your house in Bruma now crashes the game and you must reload older save where it didn't do that).

Oh and I have to constantly use the console to unstick and fix quests.

I've been waiting for this ever since they brought our TES IV Oblivion. I've pre-ordered the Collectors edition for it. It was kinda random, that the games collectors edition was announced on the night of my birthday (last Friday). I so cannot wait for it. I've viewed every video of skyrim possible, from the Todd Howard studio tour to all the E3 content. I have been playing ElderScrolls ever since Morrowind and I cant wait enough. I even pre-ordered in the start of January :)

I hope it will be better then Oblivion, Oblivion was nothing compared to Morrowind

It sure was nothing compared to long hours of wandering around not knowing where the hell to go with a confusing menu and bad controls.

I can get past the bizarre graphics and weird walking animations, but I just can't forgive a game that makes you wander endlessly. I like how Oblivion actually shows you where to go and lets you start from the closest place you have been to already.. Of course I don't like how most of the spell effects in Oblivion are completely useless.

I'm pretty sure it was worse. Quests would often glitch out and become unplayable.

Morrwind had no horses and no quick travel. you could only quick travel on those big bugs, it cost money to do so, you had to make multiple trips to get were you were going, and after all that you still had to walk were ever you went and it was all slower than shit. oblivion fixed all of these things, even a mage in full dadric could still move reasonably fast if encumbrance didn't get the best of him(if you fully encumbered then you can't move but one less than fully encumbered and you can move reasonably fast).

also the quest line is WAY more rich in Oblivion. take the mages guild quests in each. in Oblivion there is a rich story in which you kill one of the oldest enemies of the guild and become the arch mage in an epic event of martyrdom by the former arch mage... in Morrowind you do trival little quests like fetching a pipe from some old ruins(seriously that is one of the top tier mage guild quests in morrowind) and then there are 2 final quest that come from the arch mage there are really not all that great. you do become the arch mage but no were near as epiclly.

also freeing slaves doesn't even begin to compare with killing the fucking dadric prince!! a 100 foot tall god!!

sorry i fail to see that Morrowind is even close to as good as Oblivion.

Would this be a terrible time to mention one of the reasons I liked Oblivion so much was that I could shoot Umbra with an arrow and have her chase me around Cyrodiil? It was the only way a hot girl would chase after me.

:(

Bahahah :) That made me crack up... But seriously, It was because of Morrowind AND Oblivion that makes Bethesda what it is today. Plus skyrim has numerous ways to find out where you are going. A part of a Dragon Shout I think it was actually draws a blue line to your objective (though only for a few seconds) and in some caves, they have streams of water that help guide you through their new epic caves :)

Oh she will follow you out of the ruin alright. You have to coax her out a little but she will even swim after you. Right out side of her ruin is water and I jumped right in and next thing I know she is swimming after me. She is so feisty! ;)

One of the easiest ways to kill her is to have her chase you right into the imperial city with the guards. They will go right after her and she knocks most of them the hell out. They eventually overpower her. Then you take her sword off her dead body.

Am I the only one who thinks this is going to be the most disappointing game ever- not because I think it's going to be bad but because I think it isn't possible to live up to so much insane hype.

I am willing to find out. There's a certain level of bugginess I am expecting... a certain level of crap I will put up with to enjoy it... but yeah I'll probably end up pissing me off.

Well if Bethesda doesn't take care of it like they didn't take care of Oblivion, I am expecting at least a solid 100+ hours before I experience glitches that make the game unplayable. As much as I hate that, it will probably happen but I am ok with 100+ hours of gameplay.

:)
