my site for structure purposes is (www.viapics.com) < sorry ahead of time if you consider this spam
What im trying to do... Get SEO going, to get more people to my site and more signups. Is this reasonable and will it really make a difference?
I would like to inform you that in order to redirect the URLs completely we would require to change the file names from the code. This would take around 4 - 5 days to complete and would cost around $ 200.
Please let me know your thoughts on the same.
how much of a difference, or how important is this?
It is very important for this website as search engines give priority to the top level domain and as for now current system is such that index file within photo directory has been made the home page file which comes to third level in url structure. For organic search result ranking it is very important to keep home page as top level domain.

Well, if you have an index.html (whatever file extension) in there and they're complaining about it, why don't you change the name. Is the page that they are talking about the page you navigate to viapics.com?
