I wrote a PHP service that ran on my web hosting, and every day it would scrape the BBC's weather forecast for the next three days, for my area. It would then publish the forecast as a iCal calendar feed, which I had subscribed to on my smartphone. This meant I would always get the next 3 days of weather in my area, downloaded every day onto my phone. I also got it to email me when the temperature was expected to dip below freezing overnight, so that I could prepare the heaters and such.

'Bath' is a place in England, where Bob's birthday was :)
