Portable Python?

Posted 04 February 2011 - 06:59 AM

I've been using a portable version of Python called Portable Python (http://portablepython.com/) and I was wondering if it is at all like the original Python (never used the original).

Is it capable of the same things that the Original Python is?

Kthx

http://portablepython.com/wiki/About

I used the internet and have found the answer. The site you gave tells you the answer to your question on the main page. It goes a bit more in depth in the wiki.

If I misunderstood your question I apologize for being somewhat rude, but read the webpages you post links to. Especially, when you ask questions about content hosted by those pages.

Yes, the syntax of portable Python is identical to regular Python. Portable Python is used mainly as a way to simplify distribution and development of Python programs to machines that don't have Python installed.

EDIT:
, a little respect does go a long way.

I have never used it either, but I certainly will be with...

Instant Django is a portable Django development environment for Windows.
No installation is required. Simply download, extract, and start learning Django.

Instant Django! The University computers are famously empty of software.

@atraub: do you think these should be added to "Python Resources" as well as the Django home page?
