I have created a simple website with two jpeg graphics and was wondering how if possible to make the background of one of the pictures transparent. When I created the image in fireworks, the background was transparent, then when I insert it into my website, the background changes to white. how can I make it transparent?

by using another graphics format. JPEG can’t use alpha transparency. possible common formats with transparency are GIF and PNG.

Thank you for the reply and the info as this was very helpful. I actually should have known this as I just did a paper about different graphic formats two weeks ago and it just slipped my mind. Thank you again for the reply!
