Stick with one color scheme.

Well thats not fair at all. You asked what everybody thought about it, which in a public forum such as this entails criticism. He didn't ask for peoples opinions, so you lashing out at his design isn't fair.
But I have to agree. I feel like each page is part of a separate webpage linking another. The designs themselves are fine, but sticking with one color scheme is going to be your safest bet.
Variety is fun, but consistency is better.

I like it, simple but has an impact. Not too crazy about the red mouseover boxes on the top links though.

So did you literally mean that "brown and black boxes" are what you consider to be the greatest color scheme of all time? If so, consider rewording statements such as that in the future to remove the hostile tone.
As far as your site goes, perhaps changing the #cc2249 to something like #ff7793 with the text color being full white would be easier on the eyes when the users mouse passes over the links. Another option would be to change the text color to the #cc2249 and darken or lighten it on hover without highlighting the text.
Just my opinion as an end user with firebug

I didn't downvote you on purpose, but I am considering changing the hover background to something that you suggested.

I'm cool with the downrepping; giving you the feedback is what mattered

Um . . . why?
I wanna guess it is so nobody will expect friendly, helpful posts from you. But low expectations are a two-way system.

FreezingHazard, take constructive criticism and use it. Just because people don't like your site and tell you what's wrong, that does not necessarily mean you HAVE to take that advice. However, I would like to see this being a positive discussion rather than arguing. People are trying to help you.
Others: If you don't have constructive criticism to give, please don't post. We don't need this arguing.
