Holy shit that page (google.com/io) is so cool! I'm not talking about the content, but the crazy stuff they've done in presumably html5 and javascript. Without any flash, the cool countdown timer and the ability to drag all the page elements around! I hope someone writes a tutorial on how to recreate the effects on that page.

I don't have the means to attend Google I/O this year (my estimates are roughly $1100 in total as a student, including a hotel) but I really hope to be able to attend next year!

Wow, they sold out quick this year. I registered last year with no problems and it was still not sold out weeks later. Luckily I wasn't interested this year, or I'd have been out of luck.
