Hey Guys/Gals,

I was just asked to create a simple script in PHP that would add someones name and email address into a database and I finished it in a few minutes. but I dont know what to charge?

Does anyone have an idea of the going rate for a simple script like this?

I usual just do my coding for myself and my school never done it for money.

Well, you could setup an hourly rate for yourself and base it on that or you can probably shoot something off the cuff based on the time it took you. If it only took a few minutes you could say I charge 45/hour and it took me half hour so 22.50 please. Usually if it is something I can do quick like that, I would just say 15-20 bucks.

Script writing goes pretty much goes for the same as any programming language. You had to learn the language to write a script. But if it is really simple, just charge a few bucks and move on.
