Visual Assist, anyone use it?

Posted 15 February 2011 - 03:38 PM

I've recently been enjoying a visual studio plugin called Visual Assist from Whole Tomato Software, and thought I'd share and see if anyone else uses it.

It makes a huge improvement to Visual Studio's intellisense and has sped up my development a lot. It's quite expensive if you're not a student but worth it in my opinion :)

Check it out.

I use Resharper by Jetbrains. Without a long side-by-side study they seem to be very similar.

I will agree that tools like this that extend intellisense are wonderful time saving tools. I wouldn't want to be without nArrange and ReSharper.

When I first started using Visual Assist I found it slightly intrusive, this only lasted for a few days and now it has made a lot of difference to the speed of development.

@tlhIn`toq That tool looks extremely useful also, I will check it out.

I'm still learning all the cool new stuff that's built into VS2010 ultimate, they've added in a ton of new stuff. I spent 3 hours yesterday with some of Microsoft's "evangelists" and found out there's plenty of features already there for me to learn without adding any extras in yet.
