well i kinda depends what system your using, i would say GCC just becuase i like GCC but there is a good argument for MSVC if you use windows (i still like MinGW better for mostly arbitrary reasons). if it's some microprocessor that the has a special compiler for it then use it. there isn't 1 defecto C compiler, but GCC is a good bet
