Good .doc/docx viewer/editor?

Posted 17 February 2011 - 04:10 PM

Hey there,

Does anyone know of a good free/payed .doc AND .docx editor for .NET? I've had a look in various places, but nothing seems to support the docx file format.

Does anyone know of any controls or components which will let me view or edit .docx and .doc files in a VB.NET app?

Thanks?

The RichTextBox + OpenXML library would make a great combo.

Another option is to use Word inside of your application.

Devexpress also has a Richtext Editor. It can open Word Documents, however and a note to Rich Text, it is not Word. Simple. You will notice certain things will not open in Rich Text that are available in word.. Bummer. I am also looking for something like that. Word is Word made by microsoft and took a while to make.. I havent found anything like that yet. ages ago there was a word/excel/powerpoint viewer (just like adobe reader) but I havent found a control like that for Visual Studio...

Thanks for the info guys - I found out how to embed word 2000 without having it installed, but it's too old for me. I'll probably go for some sort of RichText editing control.

Try Nevron NOV Text Editor - http://www.nevron.com - it is not free but can view / edit docx, rtf and html files.
